The course typically lasts for 3 to 3.5 years, followed by a 6-month internship. It covers topics like anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, surgical nursing, and community health nursing.

In addition to this, the GNM program combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to develop essential nursing skills and professional competence. Students are trained in patient care, assisting in medical procedures, administering medications, and maintaining hospital records. This hands-on exposure helps them develop confidence, communication skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations effectively.

Furthermore, the program focuses on building qualities such as compassion, discipline, responsibility, and ethical values, which are essential in the nursing profession. After completing the GNM course, candidates can work as staff nurses, community health workers, or midwives in hospitals, nursing homes, and public health organizations.
